Beacon Firmware 0.4.14 Waiting For You

Griffin's Update Utility has a new firmware rev ready to be consumed by your Beacon. According to the company's release notes, this build includes "fixes for learning command issues" which we can only surmise means better results when teaching IR commands to the Dijit app.

To update, download the Griffin Utility app from the App Store and follow the in-app instructions. Give the new firmware a spin and let us know if you notice any improvements to the IR learning function.

Hi - before I go ahead and carry out this upgrade, it would be good to know if this can be rolled back to the previous firmware level if needed?

*post removed* Totally didn't notice that you could install older versions.

Turns out you can install any previous released version, I did the upgrade to the latest version and ended up rolling back to 0.3.11 as for whatever reason 0.4.14 meant my Sky+ HD box (I'm UK based) stopped responding to all commands...any chance this could be looked into please?

I'm in the UK also. My Beacon works great with my Panasonic TV, my Yamaha Sound Projector, Panasonic Blue-Ray player, Panasonic DVR and Apple TV. But I just can't get it to work my Sky+HD Satellite Box. I've tried teaching it and it seems to learn but when I'm done it just does nothing. Any thoughts?

I'm encountering the same, even after upgrading the Beacon to 0.4.14 today (16 October 2011); I still can't get Beacon to respond even after apparently learning every command successfully from my FOXTEL HD remote.

In addition, although the Beacon library found codes for my Oppo BDP-83SE Blu-ray player, if I add additional commands that aren't in the "default" set--such as "Dimmer"--from the original Oppo remote, they do nothing--even though Beacon and Dijit indcate the commands were successfully learned. Most dissapointing--I love the Dijit/Beacon concept, but will return it for refund if there isn't a fix forthcoming straightaway.

Is there a change log for this?
Any idea when Android compatibility will be added?

do we have a fix yet as I only just bought this from apple store and 4 hours later I still only just manage to control my tv (LG) and very small part of my receiver ( Denon)

I was willing to make it learn each function from old remotes ( harmony) but as was said earlier it shows as being learnt but does nothing, and fox Foxtel australia there is nothing at all working......at all.

this is crazy

Just bought this,. cannot get it to control my sky+ HD box. it just won't learn or its not listed in devices.
any ideas

Ditto all of the above. Im very disappointed that it wont control sky hd. As sky is a major player in the uk, you would think that this would be a priority issue.

The latest firmware update 0.4.15 now controls my Sky + box nicely.
