I'm a Droid Incredible user (until the iPhone 5 comes out at least). Subscribing to this thread to hear more about the Android story.
I'm personally an iPhone/iPad guy, but it's possible the better half might be interested in getting an Android tablet as well as changing her smartphone.
Given that I'm not overly familiar with Android, what devices will the upcoming Dijit app work with? Will I need a certain version of Android as a minimum? Will it work with both Android tablets and smartphones?
Android app fully under way, targeting a Oct/Nov public launch!

Would love to hear of a beta for it, as a current beacon owner and iphone user, but my girlfriend has a Android phone.
Coming soon, will set specific date expectations as soon as I have something we can be sure not to slip.

Please keep in mind the note attached to the Dijit application on the Android market.
NOTE: The Dijit Android app is not currently compatible with Griffin's original Beacon.
The existing Beacon for iOS that is on sale now will not work with the Android app. You'll need an Android-compatible Beacon for that. I think we'll have details on how you can get one of these real soon now, but I didn't want to disappoint anyone in the meantime.

I bought the iphone version of Beacon. Can you tell me why it will not be compatible with android tablets? I have just preordered the Kindle Fire. Do you expect that your android version will be compatible with Fire?
Wow. Lack of multiplatform support has me wondering if the Beacon was the best purchase.
LesC said: I have just preordered the Kindle Fire. Since the Beacon is a Bluetooth device, it can't work with tablets that don't support the Bluetooth protocol. It seems likely that you'll be able to use the Dijit application as a program guide on Kindle Fire, but it's difficult to speculate about an unreleased tablet none of us have ever used. Let us know what your experiences are when your Fire arives!

Yes, I know that there does not appear to be BT on the Kindle Fire. When you said that a new Beacon was needed for Android, I immediately thought that the interface was going to be WiFi instead. Is that not the case?

As it's merely a bluetooth connection I had assumed they would be compatable. Just about ALL BT items are compatable with any BT communicator. Seeing as how you are locking out the android from the current beacon, is there a way to trade them? Will the iPhone work with the new one? If it will be 2 seperate ones, one for each type of device, is there a way to return this for a refund?
Thanks for your support. I'm trying to get some more answers on this issue and will do my best to get back to you all soon.

Not much of an answer. It just says wait at least another month or so and then you'll see. What about a couple simple answers to the very specific questions that have been asked?
I know you guys are trying to put out a quality Android product. Your beta app looks so good. Fingers crossed for some good news in a couple of Weeks! I would be willing to beta test!
Jeremy Toeman said: all is coming soon - as soon as we have real dates for things, we'll share em. but i'd bet money on november...Grat that you are answering availability questions, but how about the compatability questions that were posed? Why wouldn't the current ones work with Android? And if they are not going to, will the Android one work with iphone? And if NOT, how do I return this for a refund? As it is, it doesn't work well with AT&T uverse boxes...
