Those are some great ideas, thanks! Curious what others here would put on their wish lists.

Hi All,
this is my wish list up to now, after three weeks of using dijit:
-Make Dijit to keep track of the power states of the devices when part of an activity, so when switching form activity to activity (ie watch TV, then watch a DVD) the devices not is use will turn off automatically.
-Different sounds and level for the keyboard effect.
-Possibility of macro recording to a button, ie assing channel 1004 to a button or learn different key strokes from original remote into a single button.
-Possibility of new gestures and also to assign them to macros and not only to a device button.
-Possibility of resizing buttons and its text.
-Modify the way an activity is turn on or off. Instead of asking what to do, first time the power buttton is pressed turn all the activity devices on, second time it is pushed turn all the devices off.
Any other out there with more ideas for dijit?
Regards,
Gustavo.-

My first thoughts on a wish list:
- ability for community to contribute their own remote configurations indexed on brand and model numbers, including user learned IR codes. That way over time a valuable library of codes would snowball the Dijit value proposition. (I bought a beacon rather than replace a faulty remote for a Panasonic TV. Of the built in codes, some from #2 work and some from #21 work, but neither is complete. If someone had uploaded their own 'bespoke' remote for the same model I would have been set).
- a method to enter codes manually from text information from IR code databases, again useful if you don't have the original remote.
- echoing the previous poster, macros on a button without needing to use Activities. E.g. I'd like to have a +10 and -10 volume button.
I'll echo some of these mentioned (the ones I care about), and add a few of my thoughts:
gpdlt's list
Robert Franken's list:
My own thoughts:
Out there ideas -
I'll post more if I think of some.
I'd love to see Siri integration, but there's not much we can do unless (until?) Apple releases an API so that developers can hook into Siri. For now, it's pretty much a closed system as I understand it.

I've been doing remote programming for awhile and let me throw out a big warning that tracking power states (and most states, for that matter) is more or less a waste of time. It's certainly seductive but one off-axis or missed IR beam and it's all for naught because at that point, the device thinks one thing and your remote thinks another. Always best to use discrete codes for on/off (when available, of course.)
When the discrete codes are not available, I'd suggest starting with a state (all off or all on, etc), then providing the user with a "check" sequence to get them to the desired state (Look at the amp. Is the little light on? Y/N ...) when things get out of sync.
OK. Now, sorry for the rant. I would love to see some sort of browser-based app that would let us configure NOT on the devices.
Maybe this has been discussed, but I would love a desktop app that would allow me to create/edit interfaces for various form factors and devices. Add that to the wish list, if you would.
Hello,
I bought today the beacon.
after a firmware update beacon, the remote is working properly.
it lacks color but I think it would be really interresting to be able to create their own buttons gif or png format. it lacks a lot, because in France remotes have very colorful design. and buttons with different forms.
remote control with two colors appear dull.
damage.
I would like to see a Roku channel guide.
By the way, I love this app.
No longer have to look for the "other" remote!
It would be very nice if you could add hex codes to the list so descrete codes that are not in your database can be added. The pronto remotes do this and the additional feature would cut down on tech support questions and allow a subset of audio file users to pick up the product. Hex files are commonly used on the Internet to discover undocumented descrete commands. If this feature where added it would make this product a great replacement for the harmony products!

in France the largest provider, free society, has created the freebox revolution.
impossible to recognize the remote freebox by the dijit ....

to recognize the remote control of the Freebox is not recognized by dijit ....
Can I echo the request for coloured buttons. Most remotes in the UK have 4 coloured buttons - red, green, yellow, blue. I have made buttons with the names of the colours on tem, but not quite right in grey!

A mac app so I can use the mac bluetooth connection if the phone/ipad is charging.
The ability to control multiple beacons at one time. Or to be able to switch to another without having to get up and tap it would be great. This is on my wish list big time...
Only a week into my Dijit and am pretty fond, obviously I can't wait for the iPad native version, but for an actual wish list I would like to see the following
1. A dynamic help button (something wizard based like the harmony... is this device on, is that device on, is it set to this input, is it set to that input) This would win my wife over rather than having to flip devices.
2. Guide font and size selection, I would love to see the guide sizable so I could see by the hour or two rather than just the current half hour
3. +1 on the mac app
Here's my 2 cents worth.
I have used the Harmony Remotes for years and think they are super. I am interested in the Griffin Beacon but have a few questions about how it compares to the Harmony remotes.
1. When you set up an activity how do you set the correct input?
2. With the Harmony I can switch activities withou shutting down an activity which is running. For example if I am in Watch TV my TV is on and the Satellite receiver is on. If I switch to say Watch a DVD the harmony will turn off the Satellite receiver, turn on the DVD player, and switch the TV input to DVD without turning off the TV. The Harmony "knows" the TV is already on so all it has to do is switch inputs. Will the Griffin Beacon work the same?
3. I have some concern with adding devices. I have a Toshiba VCR/DVD recorder combo and a Toshiba HD DVD player. Will Dijit be able to control these independently? The Harmony uses model numbers to select devices so with the Harmony I can control each device seperately.
By the way item number 2 is a deal breaker for me as far as buying the Beacon.
My Wish list:
1) Sound Effects
Sound application (click) should be more delicate and subtle.
The volume should not be controlled by the main volume of the iPhone.
For example: I want to reduce the volume of key sounds effects, but I do not
want to lower the ringer volume iPhone.
Should be added the key effects of vibration.
2) Cooperation with several devices (for example two iPhones)
Beacon is not detectable (visible) for two or more devices at the same time.
By then it becomes completely unusable for several people.
For example: Sitting on the sofa, I can turn on the light (IR Light), but the
other person can not control the TV, sitting on the couch, because it has to
get up and click on beacon (Beacon is usually away from the user). Which is
equivalent to the need to get up to a normal remote control.

3)Activities - Actions on buttons
I am totally disappointed with the option of "activities", which allows you
Ã?Â
to create actions (macro) only under the button "Power" - why?
It should be possible to create any actions/macro (queue operations) in any
key!
For example: Possibility to create key "Play DVD", which in itself contains
the actions:
a) change the TV channel to channel DVD Player
b) change speakers audio input from input TV to input DVD Player
c) play DVD on DVD Player

4) WiFi Remote...
Addition should be addedmore remotes to control by the wifi, for example MAC Ã?Â
or PC with Trackpad, aplication VLC, PLEX, EYETV, etc...
5) Naming Devices
Not always a brand name that you wish to add.
I would like to enter one word - no name brand stuff.
The user controls which sees things as a general name, and not necessarily Ã?Â
the name of brand and the exact name of the model.
It should be possible to enter a shortcut word.
For example: I want to add equipment that is not on the list and I have to
give the brand and the name of the equipment.
Sufficed to give one name, such as "speakers" or "Big TV" or "My computer"
etc.

My wish list is quite short. I would like to include long button presses or button holds so that I can accomplish what I need to with my PS3. I have just started using this device but I am sure that my list will be ammended.
