Great suggestions guys! Thanks for all the feedback

Hi All,
this is my wish list up to now, after three weeks of using dijit:
-Make Dijit to keep track of the power states of the devices when part of an activity, so when switching form activity to activity (ie watch TV, then watch a DVD) the devices not is use will turn off automatically.
-Different sounds and level for the keyboard effect.
-Possibility of macro recording to a button, ie assing channel 1004 to a button or learn different key strokes from original remote into a single button.
-Possibility of new gestures and also to assign them to macros and not only to a device button.
-Possibility of resizing buttons and its text.
-Modify the way an activity is turn on or off. Instead of asking what to do, first time the power buttton is pressed turn all the activity devices on, second time it is pushed turn all the devices off.
Any other out there with more ideas for dijit?
Regards,
Gustavo.-

I bought the Griffin Beacon today but just realized it's useless to me right now. There just isn't any way to add discrete codes in hex, which is a MUST since these codes are not available in digits db. I have a quite recent Samsung LED-TV and can't control important things like selecting a certain HDMI input because of this. I know the hex codes for the discrete commands but apparently have nowhere to edit them in. :-( So please add support for this ASAP! Pleeease? :)
I was impressed when the guide showed the correct channel numbers (not the cable box numbers since I don't have the cable company's box). Then I noticed it only recognizes the the whole number (51, not 51-23, for example).
Fixing this in the guide would make the "watch" function really useful. If that isn't doable, then expanding the macro functions (activities) to the the channel up/down button could be a workaround.
My 2 cents
1. Real button macros.
2. Redesigned activity section to include any activity, not just power on/off.
3. Resize and change button style.
4. iPad app sorely needed.
5. Improve beacon, included batteries lasted 3 weeks. ( deal breaker ).
Reitterate the "jump to" command or an arrow down or arrow up to switch remotes (I just found out 5 minutes ago that I can swipe)
Ability to add text or draw boxes and/or personalized help bubbles
Button macros is something that is most desirable. This will typically help to have buttons as short cuts to select a channel / program. The buttons should be able to display an icon representing the channel.
Greetings,
My wishlist is quite simple, reasonably easy (for the most part) and I think all users could benefit from these. I hope none of these were already mentioned. If they were, then of course I'll just add my support.
1.) TV - Favorite channels available on my "Watch TV" activity/remote.
Similar to DirecTV's "Turbo Tune", as they used to call it, it would be a button similar to the button that brings up the individual digits for choosing channels. Instead of these digits, you'd have a small list or menu of your favorite saved channels, like the ones in the Guide section. You could also think of it as a shortcut to a folder, like the folders in Android 4.0.
2.) Macros
I'd like like to echo what Yan stated. But to be clearer, I would like to have macros, with an adjustable delay between each action. It would look as simply as a track, with a finite amount of buttons that I could add, which would play out in succession. If possible, I would like to combine this with my next suggestion...
3.) Alarm Clock integration OR Scheduled activities
My TV, as awesome as the specs were when I bought, did not include a simple repeating On Time. It only came with timer for when it would turn on. I hate forgetting to set it each night. My previous OLD tv could be set to turn on at a certain time, at a specific volume, and on a specific input. Combined with my DirecTV receiver's ability to auto tune to a specific channel, I was able to have the news playing as I woke up. And if I had been watching TV quietly the night before, it would start loud enough to wake me.
What do you think? I hope you like these ideas.
1) Being able to freely build macros with every device I've set up
2) Customizable Widgets, so I can choose "Play Wii", pick up my Wii and start to play (which would require some serious programming, I know)
3) Make the "devices" and "activities" in the menu more distinguishable by either coloring them differently or putting them in 2 different places altogether
4) Different backgrounds for each device&activity (customizable)
5) Implement of HEX-Codes
6) Being able to rename Buttons without having to learn them completely anew
Like many UK users I would like the r/g/b/y buttons. However I think there is a more general solution to this: the dijit-supplied remote for one of my devices (Humax satellite) has a green button, but not the other colours. Another poster mentioned a red button with the Sky remote. So Dijit clearly has these buttons available, but only makes them available for devices it believes has them. In fact, trawling around amongst the other device types and remotes, it is clear that there are a huge number of buttons it knows about (shuffle, repeat, etc), but for some reason the majority of these are not available if you try to "learn new button". The selection there is very limited. If the app made available *all* of the button icons it has through this menu, I could build a remote for pretty much anything by hand if I had to. As it is, if I want to add a remote for a manufacturer it doesn't know of it will give me what it considers to be the standard set of buttons for the specific kind of device, after which I can add a very limited set of standard buttons or a generic custom button.
So come on guys, how about offering *all* of the icons in the "learn new button" icon? That would make the app infinitely more flexible and useful.
My wish list:
* Macro buttons in activities. For instance, I would like to control both zones' audio on my stereo receiver from the volume up/down button.
* Add Wifi control of (for instance) Remote Buddy's Ajax Remote interface. I see that Roku is supported already.
* Community-supported database of remote codes and macros
I have been playing with the Beacon and like what It can do, but when I compare it to my old philips pronto there are some areas of the IPhone and IPad app that do need some tweaks.
These are based on what I Was able to do on the Pronto's Computer programming interface.
1 To be able to change the background for each device and the main app.
2 To be able to change the colour of buttons to the user's choice
3 To be able to use an image for a macro button (for example on the satellite remote Fox News, CNN, Cartoon Network, etc ) This would need macro's to be added to the device.
Also there are a lot of the for mentioned that I am used to using with the pronto.
While here writing this thread it might be an idea to create wish list Topic board , so that members can help develop the best remote interface for the Ipad and Android.
In the channel editor: I would like the ability to change the channel number that the "watch" button goes to. IE... 10 in my channel guide needs to go to 10.1 (the HD channel).
Maybe first thing why to get universal remote is macros as mentioned here in the first mail. Any idea if anything is happening anymore with this product?
Yes, please implement macro buttons and colored buttons urgently. Any idea when you plan to create an updated version, as the macros request is a long outstanding wish.
Great product with LOTS of potential. I'm used to the Philips Pronto which had loads of prgramming capabilities. It great to integrate X-10 to control lighting too.
I'd like to see:
1. Macros
2. Windows/Mac GUI interface for programming
3. Cusomizable interface/layout/wallpapers
Thanks!!
