Hi,

Setup: HTC Desire Z (rooted), Griffin Beacon, Dijit

(w/ newest firmware)

I've added manually my "DVDO Edge" Scaler, which works as a hub too. I've been able to teach dijit the most important functions.

However: If i want to add the DVDO Edge to an activity (it's listed as a device in the main menu!), it won't appear. There's just my sony tv and my yamaha receiver in the menu.

I absolutely need to be able to create multiple activities with my dvdo plus receiver plus tv, since I need all 3 remotes to switch from htpc to x360 and so on (hence the great relief dijit + griffin could provide..).

Is there a workaround or any change in sight?

Hi Riplue,

When you add an activity you should see your custom device in the list as you go through the wizard to create the activity.

If you added the device after the activity was already created then you can still add the device to the activity by editing the activity. You can also just add buttons from a specific device by editing the activity remote.

If you give me a little background (iPad or iPhone, what kind of activity, did you add the device pre or post activity creation, did you create a custom brand and device, just a custom device, just a custom brand...) perhaps I can give you instructions for your particular case.

Thanks,
Anuj

Gidday Anuj and Riplue. I have the same problem (android) and there may be no simple solution. If devices are those that we manually added with "I don't see my brand here" then they don't appear under the devices available for an activity.

This same problem also arrases if you find your brand but not your device type.

A workaround is to create dummy devices from those brands that are known to the beacon and to then edit their buttons. We will have to choose the brands and devices carefully as we will be stuck with the name as it does not appear to be editable.

I hope the software programmers will address this bug as it is very serious for the many of us that use a number of devices not 'known' to the beacon.

I think I've given plenty of background in my original Post and I won't list it here again, just let me say that I'm using an android version (HTC Desire Z).

As Don mentioned, there seems to be a problem with devices not listed. I stated that clearly in my OP, where I said the DVDO Edge (a scaling device) won't be listed. Furthermore, I've had even more issues in the last few days, as the Beacon didn't forward the buttons I've pressed on the Dijit app, not limited to just one specific device.

Thanks for the workaround, Don. I'm kinda disappointed in how rudimentary everything is, still. The wish-list is long but essential to me and most of the people have similar needs. I don't see why they don't push updates more often, because it would be a bit soothing to see even minor bugs (like the one with the unlisted manually added devices) fixed.
