Hello everyone, I am new to this group. I tried to find out if there is any section for new members introduction or not! But did not find any. That is why I am making a new thread. I am totally new to this technology world and I want to learn a lot. I am student and a proud owner of the new iPad. i just love my iPad. till now could not do much except for checking my e-mails, playing angry birds and updating my facebook status. I want to know more about iPad and guess this forum would be a pretty nice way to learn it. on another note, before i bought my ipad, i did a bit of online searching and found a really cool website about all the cool facts of iPad . hope these stats will help some of you for their presentation or some school work. hope to have a nice time here. cheers
[Read more]

I am trying to setup my Viewsonic flatscreen and none of the remote setups work. My existing remote is gone so I can't use that to setup with. I have searched online and others have indicated that Philips also works but no go. Short of buying a Viewsonic remote, do I have any other options to try? Thanks.

Long keypress for Panasonic Plasma TV

I've just started with Dijit/Beacon and I'm trying to setup my devices & activities (I've been using a Logitech Harmony One up to now). I have a Panasonic TX-P42V10E and I found a profile that covers almost evertyhing. To switch on the TV a long press of the power key or a channel key is required, and this seems to work with the Device remote (I press the power icon until the TV switches on), but I can't get it to work for an Activity - I want to start the TV & a SAT receiver. I tried adding multiple Power and/or Power On commands to the Power On action but it won't switch on. The only way to get it to work is to add the TV's Power button to the Activity layout, but then I have 2 power buttons (I suppose I could remove the activity power?). Is there another way to achieve this 'long press' John
[Read more]

Hi all, I am probably stupid but I can't find where to change the layout/theme of the dijit app (iPad and iPhone). If you look at the package or even on the dijit website under features, you will see that the buttons are black while they are grey on my iPhone/iPad. I find them way more sexy on the box. Any idea how to get them for real and not only on paper :)? Best, Seb
[Read more]

Hey, I'm from israel and i'm wondering if the ipad based app is usable outside the USA.. from what i understood so far, the EPG function doesn't work outside of the USA. being that 65% of the ipad app is usable only if you have the EPG function working, i think the app is useless, doesn't it ? i have a few questions: 1. is there any way to get only the universal remote function working ? (without all the bells and whistels. just a programable remote control..) 2. can i use the iphone app (leaner and less complicated) on my new ipad 3 ? 3. does the dijit app can compare with irule ? (as a programable, skinable, universal remote control ) thanks for all your help
[Read more]

I tried to set up all my living room devices now and on all I noticed that choosing a config manually you end up in a list of "Remote 1, Remote 2" etc. This is not helping too much. Why not putting the devices names there or where available the remote name? Most brands use one and the same remotes for multiple devices, the name usually is printed somewhere on the remote. For example the Remote for my NEC beamer is : RD383E for my Onkyo Receiver it is: RC-710M I noticed that in the SQLITE isidir.db database are only a very few names in the device list. Couldn´t find the actual configs yet :-( Wouldn´t it be wise to make that device list open source? Since I don´t think it is built from scratch it is probably based on lirc or something similar anyway?

Hi, I just got my beacon and thought I´d share my experiences: First of all I think there is a list with non-working devices required. I really expected this to work with all my IR devices but it doesn´t. The SAT Receiver Kathrein 902 doesn´t work. Programming is possible but the keys don´t work then. Same goes for my NEC VT45K Beamer. I was able to program the video and the power buttons both work but all other keys I tried weren´t programmable somehow. Then about the pairing. Why do I have to push the thing for pairing? Since the devices are not all in front of me I thought of putting the beacon on the cealing but that way I´d need to get a ladder each time for the pairing issue :-( As you can imagine beamers are not in front, not even my AV Receiver in Bluray player are.

Hello from Paris, France I am contemplating buying the Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition tablet. One of the main reasons for this purchase is the embedded infra-red remote control function with Dijit. My question is : Will I be able to use the LEARNING function on that MOTOROLA device to teach Dijit the codes for the equipment I own and which I presume won't be in the pre-loaded list. These include an old NOKIA satellite receiver 9800S, an ADSL triple-play box (internet, phone and TV) called FREEBOX OPTIQUE, and a Wifi Radio called SqueezeBox by Logitech. Thank you for your kind answer. David
[Read more]

I set up my iPhone with Digit and Beacon today. Everything work fine except when I touch "TV" on the device list all I get is a blank page with a "chrome-looking" background. If I touch "Edit", the TV remote pad shows up ready for me to edit it but when I touch "Done" it just goes back to the blanck screen. Any ideas? Thanks,
[Read more]

need discrete power commands for XBox 360

Please add discrete "Power On" and "Power Off" commands for the Xbox 360 command set. I know they exist, as the Harmony system includes them (though I've been unable to successfully teach the commands to Dijit using my Harmony remote). This is key for environments w/ multiple devices - being able to start an activity and have distinct "power off" commands sent to any devices not being used by that activity is crucial. As it stands, only having a power toggle doesn't do the trick - while that's fine when going from "all off" to a particular activity, what about when I jump from one activity to the next?
